Materials

Abbreviations

This pattern is written in US Terms and worked in continuous rounds.

  • MR - magic ring

  • sc - single crochet

  • inc - increase

  • dec - invisible decrease

  • hdc - half double crochet

  • cc - color change

  • sl st - slip stitch

  • FO - fasten off

Let’s Begin!

Munchkin Body

Made in black

  • R1: 6sc in MR (6)

  • R2: 6 inc (12)

  • R3: (1sc, inc) x 6 (18)

  • R4 - R6: 18sc (18) (3 rounds)

  • R7: (1sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Add safety eyes between R4-5, approximately 3 stitches apart. Embroider whites around the eyes.

  • R8: 6 dec (6)

Stuff firmly.

FO and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the remaining gap shut and then feed your yarn tail out of the side of the body for sewing later.

Donut

Made in light brown

  • R1: ch 20, sc into 1st chain to make a circle (1)

  • R2: 19sc (19 + 1 sc from R1 = 20)

  • R3: (1sc, inc) x 10 (30)

  • R4: (2sc, inc) x 10 (40)

  • R5: (3sc, inc) x 10 (50)

  • R6: (2sc, inc, 2sc) x 10 (60)

  • R7: 60 sc (60)

  • R8: (2sc, dec, 2sc) x 10 (50)

  • R9: (3sc, dec) x 10 (40)

  • R10: (2sc, dec) x 10 (30)

  • R11: (1sc, dec) x 10 (20)

  • R12: 7 dec (13 - 7 decreases + 6 unworked stitched) - you will not finish this round

    FO and leave a long tail for sewing later. We’ll sew and stuff the inside of the donut together during assembly.

Frosting

Made in purple

  • R1: ch 20, sc into 1st chain to make a circle (1)

  • R2: 18 sc, 1 inc (20 + 1 sc from R1 = 21)

  • R3: ([3 hdc] in 1 stitch, sl st, sl st) x 7 (35)

FO and leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

  • Sew R1 and R12 of the donut together with a whip stitch to complete the donut shape. Stuff firmly as you sew, making sure the entire donut has stuffing.

  • Sew the frosting on top of the donut.

  • Sew the munchkin in the donut hole so it is sitting on top of the frosting.

  • Using black yarn, add the 8 legs of the spider across the frosting.
