Materials
Crochet hook (I used Clover 5mm)
Yarn in Cream, Red, and Green (or your Christmas colors of choice!)
I used Parfait Chunky from Premier
Stitch marker
Stuffing (I used Poly-Fil)
Scissors
Items to decorate your donut: bows, pom poms, ribbon (optional)
Abbreviations
This pattern is written in US Terms and worked in continuous rounds.
MR - magic ring
sc - single crochet
inc - increase
dec - invisible decrease
cc - color change
sl st - slip stitch
FO - fasten off
Let’s Begin!
Donut
start in green
R1: ch 20, sc into 1st chain to make a circle (1)
R2: 19sc (19 + 1 sc from R1 = 20)
R3: (1sc, inc) x 10 (30)
R4: (2sc, inc) x 10 (40)
R5: (3sc, inc) x 10 (50)
R6: (2sc, inc, 2sc) x 10 (60)
cc to light brown; FO green yarn
R7: 60sc (60)
R8: (2sc, dec, 2sc) x 10 (50)
R9: (3sc, dec) x 10 (40)
R10: (2sc, dec) x 10 (30)
R11: (1sc, dec) x 10 (20)
R12: 7 dec (13) - you will not finish this round
FO and leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the inside of the donut together (R1 to R12) with a whip stitch. Stuff firmly as you sew, making sure the entire donut has stuffing.
Decorate your donut!
The options are endless here - add sprinkles, a bow, a Santa hat, or anything else you can imagine! Check out my tester’s work for some inspiration.
Ornament Hanger
With light brown yarn, sl st to the top of your donut where the color change is. Ch 20, then sl st back into the donut to create the loop.
