Materials

Abbreviations

This pattern is written in US Terms and worked in continuous rounds.

  • MR - magic ring

  • sc - single crochet

  • inc - increase

  • dec - invisible decrease

  • cc - color change

  • sl st - slip stitch

  • BLO - back loops only

  • TRBOB - Treble Bobble (7 loops on hook)

  • FO - fasten off

Let’s Begin!

Arms (Make 2)

Make in Brown

  • R1: 6sc in MR (6)

  • R2: (sc, inc) x 3 (9)

  • R3: 9 sc (9)

  • R4: (sc, dec) x 3 (6)

  • R5: 6 sc (6)

Stuff the bottom of the arm lightly. Fold in half and 3 sc across to close. FO and leave a short tail - arms will be crocheted into the body later.

Jingle Bell

Start in Gold

  • R1: 8sc in MR (8)

  • R2: 8 inc (16)

  • R3: (sc, inc) x 8 (24)

  • R4: (sc, inc, sc) x 8 (32)

  • R5: (3sc, inc) x 8 (40)

  • R6: (2sc, inc, 2sc) x 8 (48)

    • In the next round (R7), make the TRBOB in Dark Brown

  • R7: BLO 16sc, TRBOB, 14sc, TRBOB, 16sc (48)

  • R8: (2sc, dec, 2sc) x 8 (40)

  • R9: (3sc, dec) x 8 (32)

  • R10: 32 sc (32)

  • R11: (6sc, dec) x 4 (28)

  • R12: (5sc, dec) x 4 (24)

  • R13: 24 sc (24)

    • In the next round, we will crochet the arms in. Make an sc through both the body and the arm. Due to differences in tension, you may need to adjust placement by 1-2 sc so they are aligned with the legs.

  • R14: 7sc, 3sc with arm, 9sc, 3sc with arm, 2sc (24)

  • R15 - R16: 24 sc (24) (2 rounds)

  • R17: (4sc, dec) x 4 (20)

    • Insert safety eyes in between R14-R15, with approximately 5 stitches in between. Make sure they are aligned with the feet and the arms.

    • Begin stuffing, making sure to not stuff too firmly so the bottom of the bell is flat.

  • R18: (2sc, dec) x 5 (15)

  • R19: (1sc, dec) x 5 (10)

    • In the next Round (R20), make the TRBOB in Red.

  • R20: 5sc, TRBOB, 4sc (10)

    • Finish stuffing.

  • R21: 5 dec (5)

    • FO and sew the remaining hole closed.

Holly Leaves

Attach green yarn next to the red bobble with a sl st. Ch 6, then sl st into the same stitch. Ch 7, sl st into the next stitch. Ch 6, sl st into the same stitch. FO and weave in ends.

To finish, embroider a mouth between the eyes.
